Attended the Independence Day Celebration for Laurel and surrounding area. It was a good time. Everyone was welcoming and respectful to each other which took me by surprise because where I come from anytime that many people get together for anything there is always a few that will cause a problem.

Came for Lakefest '26. Real cool vibe of the park. Digital signs, excellent playground area, prominent bathrooms (though I didn't use), and a splendid lakefront view that was a nice calm to juxtapose the fest energy. Family-friendly, I will be back!

Only public parking access to the park is on Mulberry street. Google maps currently shows the “entrance” to the park as the parking lot of a Tex-mex restaurant that has “customer only” parking signs every ten feet and the rest of the lake is also surrounded by private property, mostly housing complexes. Great playground that is well shaded by old trees, it is a lot of neat climbing equipment but one part is for younger kids that suited my 3 yr old. There are also multiple covered pavilions with picnic tables. We were there in the afternoon and the lake-house was closed so only portable bathrooms available, and no paddle boat rentals.

This was my first time at the park and it was absolutely amazing and the firework display was 1000% on point. Beautifully done Laurel. Great job!!

It’s a beautiful park to walk in the morning and during sunset. People were also very friendly!
